Aurora R8, PSU atx and cpu cable
I just got a new power supply for the Aurora R8. The original PSU has the motherboard cable and the gpu cable in one.
but my new PSU motherboard cable has a 10 pin on the end that doesn’t split into 4 for the GPU.
do I power the atx with another cpu cable?

Yes, ATX_CPU uses the same connector type as the GPU_PWR.

I don’t want to mess things up.
you are saying use one cpu cable for the GPU??
and use all 8 pins? I thought there was a hanging pin on the GPU since it only takes 4???
and the atx will take its own cpu cable correct? Only 4 pins and the other 4 hanging out

I can’t really see.
I’m just wondering do I use the two cpu cables for the GPU and ATX?

Yes, use the CPU cable for the GPU power.

1. You can plug either just 4 PINs (1 left hanging) or all 8PINs into GPU_PWR. If only 4, then plug them on the left like in the factory position. After upgrading my GPU, I plugged all 8 PINs in (4+4) to distribute the heat more evenly. Either way will work. I've run it both ways in my PC (4 with a 1080 and 8 with a titan).
2. Yes, one CPU 4 PIN to ATX_CPU, the second 4PIN can hang out unused.

Like this, but you can plug both 4 pin cpu cables in there.

**bleep** I’m confused.
the new motherboard gpu cable cable is not a 4 pin. It’s a 10 pin
do I use the new 2 CPU cables for the atx and cpu?
they are two CPU type 4 (4+4)

The extra pins to the gpu header won't hurt anything. Just spreads out the load. Gpu will pull what it needs.

So that would be one cable to ATX_CPU, and one cable to GPU_PWR. If the cables end in a Y, plug both 4 pin connectors into the GPU_PWR, and 1 into CPU_PWR, so that there will be a spare at the end and you can just point that away.

I left my ATX_CPU cable with the spare 4 pin hanging off to the side:

What Ram is that in your Aurora?
I’d like to upgrade the ram soon, not sure what to get.
is all 2666 ram compatible?
