Aurora R8, yellow light flashing 4 times on power button
My Alienware Aurora r8 was knocked over by my dogs and I don’t know what’s wrong with it. I opened it and there were some wires unplugged but I couldn’t find where or if they went to anything, and my pc doesn’t show up on the monitor. I’d love it if someone could help me!

Sounds like the RAM isn't seated properly, those end latches have to lock in place.
I'm still waiting for the photograph to show, It will when it feels like it.
We're making progress...4 flashes down to 2 flashes...we'll get to no flashes soon.

I see no loose cables and unplugged them and plugged them back up, so now how would I go about checking the Ram?

My best suggestion is to view a web video on "how to add RAM to your computer".
You will see there are locking release catches at each end of the RAM slot...easier to see in a video.
Remover the RAM and then reinsert it.

I'm still here, waiting for your photo to load up...sometimes they take a while to appear on the web site...just the way things are.

Sorry to hear of your dogs adventure, I would check (unplug then re-plug) all connecting cables at back of computer. Then check RAM (remove then replace in slot) and GPU card (remove then replace in slot).
Some photographs of these loose wires would be helpful, but I suspect they are extra power cables from the power supply...but let's check anyway.

Take your time , I’ve been dealing with this a while now, had to take a few days to convince myself not to sell my dogs...

You have to make sure you are lined up with those latches opened, when the memory seats properly it is all the way down in the socket, no gold connectors showing. Some connectors require a little more pressure than others.
Then make sure the latches are locked.

Okay, do I push it in hard, I don’t want to break it and have another problem.

Also what do you mean by all connecting cables? I’m not really educated when it comes to computer stuff.

Okay, I’ll do that. Also I have a Alienware Aurora R7 not R8 if that makes any difference!
