Aurora R9, Flashing Yellow Alien Head
Hello,
I recently updated the BIOS on my Aurora R9. Dell classified these three BIOS updates as URGENT.
So, I installed all three. Now, when I try to turn my computer on, the Alien Head flashed Yellow and nothing else happens. No sounds. No display on the screen. No power up to Windows. The Aurora R9 stays on with this yellow flashing Alien Head.
Please help. Please advise.\

How many consecutive flashes does it show? System Diagnostic Lights
Also, can you perform a CMOC reset as per these instructions: Clear CMOS

The process for the power supply swing arm is identical on all of them.
power supply
You would be using picture 2 to release and swing up arm the mechanism. The 2 tabs with the blue arrow, and then you can swing it upwards to access the motherboard.
It's a bit stiff, you you likely will have to give it a bit of a push or pull. But it does swing upwards.
All the other instructions are also in that service manual.

Hello,
There wasn't a detectable flash sequence. The alien head just kept flashing.
I successfully opened the left hand cover. Yet, I don't know how to open the rest of the computer to perform a CMOS [sic CMOC] reset.
Are there instructions for that?

After using my phone as a flashlight and magnifying glass, I was able to find the power supply to the main board and the CMOS to perform a reset.
Many thanks! Your suggestion was right on.

@daboy9902 Try a BIST
If that checks out ok, release the fleas.
If that did not bring it back to life, often the easiest fix is replacing the Coin Cell Battery.
A new battery can be gotten at any hardware or electronic store.
Just wait 30 seconds between taking it out and putting the new one in.
