Aurora R9, how to turn off raid?
i just had a samsung 970 evo plus installed and used their image software to to move windows 10 to it from my old drive. all went well except i can not get the magician software to see it and the samsung NVME driver says there is no samsung drive in system. i have found out that my alienware bios is set to raid for some dumb reason and dell will not tell me why saying they can not support me since i put new drive in computer.
how do i turn off the raid? i tried turning it off in bios but windows would not load. i have googled it and have not seen an easy solution for this. i hope you can help!! other than this the drive functions fine but i would like to be able to use the samsung software with my drive.

After you installed the 970 you should have turned raid off in bios before booting with new windows install. Now with raid off you will have to reinstall windows in the advanced bios option. It will take awhile.

Yep. I think the option for RAID vs AHCI has to be configured before booting into Windows for the first time. Do you still have your Win 10 image saved outside your NVMe stick? I recommend wiping your boot drive, configuring for AHCI in BIOS page, then loading windows and booting in. In that order.

You should be able to use msconfig to boot to safe mode, then reboot to the BIOS to turn RAID off. Shut the computer down and then boot back to safe mode. Turn off safe mode, reboot and the OS should pick up the NVME drivers with everything working normally. I have done that on an XPS 8930 and an Inspiron 5432 with no problems.
