Aurora R9, update BIOS to 1.0.14 with Windows 11 Pro
Another BIOS update is available on Alienware Support for Aurora R9. I have never had a problem during the last five updates, but this time when I tried to just click on the executable in Windows the update program would immediately shut off.
OK, more than one way to skin a cat...probably the new BIOS security protocols in Windows 11 are shutting the update program down. So, I got my trusty Rufus loaded USB drive, copied the BIOS update file, went through the Update BIOS section in the Boot Menu and presto--Windows 11 Pro with the latest Intel security updates in BIOS 1.0.14.
Your experience may of course vary, but best of luck!

Thanks for trying the new BIOS update and the additional information about the installation. How did you manage to get Windows 11? Was it an update or a new installation?

An update...I used the "Windows11Installation Assistant.exe" downloaded from Microsoft. It took three tries before it completely downloaded and installed Windows 11, but everything seems to be fine...
once I put the start menu back in the lower left corner.
Just for information, the following benchmarks...
take from them what you will...
Superposition Benchmark 8K-- Windows 10 3845
Windows 11 3834
3DMark Port Royal-- Windows 10 12839
Windows 11 12785
Visually in Windows 11, for example playing Doom games, things seem a little more..."gooey" and more detailed with DirectX 12 Ultimate as seen in the following screen snap...

I am glad that everything worked out well for you. Maybe I will try to update my alien next weekend. Nice screen shots of Doom. Now I am in the mood to play this game.
