The agents were all correct, Dell cannot provide an I/O cover. Why, because Dell does not have access to just the I/O cover. The monitor I/O cover is packaged in the box by the manufacturer. In my opinion it was somewhat unethical of Amazon to send you the AW3420DW knowing it was missing parts. You should return it to Amazon. Then purchase a new one directly from Dell. Then you will receive all of the parts.
Thank you very much for the responses and help. I was kind of hoping that somebody would have one lying around - ya know, maybe from a broken monitor or a returned item. Too bad that the I/O cover can't be purchased as a separate item directly from Dell. I was also hoping that since it's just a cover that can get damaged or go missing, that they may have a box or replacements sitting in some distribution/shipping warehouse somewhere.
I agree that it was somewhat unethical for them to sell the item with missing parts. It was discounted quite a bit but still should come with all the parts. Cords were in the box, but manuals and the cover was missing. Ah well, it's just a cover. I'll keep an eye out on ebay and other forums to see if somebody has one "lying around" that they'd be willing to part with.
Fee free to send me any ideas or recommendations that you may have, if any arise. In the interim, I'll just engineer something. You can go ahead and mark this as resolved and close the case. Thanks again.
Hello there. I know this is kinda old, but I just ordered like 2 weeks ago the same monitor on Amazon and it comes without the cover too. very similar to you describe it. In my case, they sell it as a NEW item. may I know the name of your seller? thank you

Dell sells their monitors as an all in one package unit, they don't offer individual part sales
