BIOS upgrade gone bad!
Hi all,
Recently, I tried to update my BIOS as Dell recommended but ended up crashing my Alienware 51. Now when I try to start up I can't even get to POST. All that happens is that the system starts beeping continuously (single beep) after about ten to fifteen seconds. Monitor is not receiving video feed and remains blank although both my video cards are getting power. Based on what I've seen/heard/asked around, it looks like my motherboard might be the issue. However, I'd like to get some expert opinion prior to going out and grabbing a new motherboard. Or maybe there's an easy fix I'm missing? I've already tried the usual troubleshooting methods of turning off and on, unplugging and reseating connections.
Thanks for any and all help!

Look at this Dell procedure on a BIOS recovery. It doesn't apply to all Dell's but if you are lucky it will for you.

Hey All
Thanks for the help. Turned out the the mobo was indeed fried and Dell was kind enough to send me a new one (thanks for the advice Tesla!).
Now though I'm able to post but can't start Windows. I've checked my boot order so I know that the system is actually recognizing my drives both the SSD and the HD (SSD has Windows).
Nevertheless I keep getting this error message:
"Check cable connection! PXE - MOF: exiting intel PXE ROM"
My boot order is SSD first, HD second, then CD and ethernet and so on. I even tried to reinstall windows but the setup program keeps telling me that I can't and urges me to reboot off the HD. When I try to force it to install, it says that none of the partitions can have windows installed on it because of formatting issues. It won't even allow me to reformat my drives!
Again, thanks for the help so far and sorry to keep being a bother, but any help is appreciated!

That means it can't find a bootable hard-drive (ie Windows) ... so it's trying to boot from the network Server (which you do not have).
