Feature Request – Option to Disable or Customize Standby “Breathing” LED on Alienware OLED Monitors
Dear Alienware Team,
I wanted to share some feedback regarding the standby LED behavior on Alienware OLED monitors, specifically models like the AW3425DW.
Currently, the power LED “breathes” or blinks white while the monitor is in standby mode. For users who keep their setup in a bedroom or low-light environment, the constant pulsing light can be quite distracting. The only available workaround is to turn off the LED entirely, which also disables it while the monitor is on.
It would be a great improvement if a future firmware or AlienFX update added a simple option to control this behavior — for example:
Always On (solid LED, no breathing)
Off in Standby
Breathing in Standby (current default)
Both Acer and MSI monitors I’ve owned previously offered a solid, warm white standby LED that was far less intrusive, so a similar customization option would really elevate the user experience on Alienware OLEDs.
This seems like a small, firmware-level change but it would make a meaningful difference for many owners. I appreciate all the engineering effort that goes into Alienware’s displays — this would be a great quality-of-life enhancement for users who love your products but prefer subtler lighting behavior.
Thank you for your time and for considering this feedback.
Best regards,
Hunter Jackson
