anyway, i was wondering if i was able to slap an AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3970X 32-Core with Asus ROG Strix TRX40-E Gaming AMD 3rd Gen Ryzen Threadripper sTR4 ATX Motherboard ... do i need to buy a new cooling system or will i be just fine with what I have?

The SFF aurora r8/9 case does not support a 12" motherboard.

Also, swapping out the mobo requires taking a saw and cutting out the metal io shield, which is a part of the case and specific to dells z370 mobo. Also, it would require rewiring the proprietary cable for the led and power on button.

Realistically though, the aurora case would not support a cpu cooler capable of sufficiently cooling a 3rd gen TR.
