I need help with buying an Alienware Desktop
I wanted to get a desktop this summer, and I have a few options: Building Alienware Corsair Origin PC I'm not good at building, so probably not doing option 1 Option 3 is my other main choice Option 4 is very expensive. That leaves me only with Option 2, Alienware. I looked at the desktop models, and there are 4. Which one do I choose? What is the difference between them? I tried building the Threadripper (Most expensive) and Aurora online. The Threadripper(5.4k) is way more expensive than the Aurora (3.4k). Also, what is the difference between dual gtx 1080 ti and dual gtx 1080 watercooled? Their prices are different, but is that it?

The GTX 1080 Ti is the more powerful of the 2 cards. Also the 1080 Ti has more video memory 11Gb vs 8Gb. As far as choosing, that depends on your games as I can safely assume you are a hard core gamer. And also what kind of total cost you are willing to go for. At that price point the models are very similar. Actually the same model with different customizations. And there is also 1 more model with the RTX 2080 OC card. You are only limited by the amount of money you want to spend. And what you need on the system such as 16Gb or 32Gb of RAM. Dual hard drives (SSD and HDD), etc. The list goes on.

I'm computer builder / IT / Sys. admin by trade but at this stage i'm not really not all gung-ho about building from scratch anymore so I went with a pre-build and all the research I did with comparison for each Dell PC my choice was the Aurora R7 - best bang for your buck imo - with i7-8700k. It beats a LOT of the CPU's out there and was not too far off from the lower end i9 Its neck and neck with the AMD Ryzen™ Threadripper 1950X

I just had to respond. I have built and repaired quite a few in my career. I have to admit that after my last build, I would like to buy a pre-built next time. Full warranties and tech support are starting to sound better as I get older!
