Retrofitting R15 cooling on R13
Hi Alienware fam, I have an R13 desktop which many would find lacking in CPU cooling with only a 120mm single-fan AIO. I just saw the new R15 has a 240mm double-fan AIO fitted on the upper side of the chassis, and given that both generations use the same motherboard and chassis(from what I can see), would it be possible to swap the CPU cooling system? Any suggestions appreciated.

Third party cooling solutions will also work in the R13

I don't think the R13 has 2 x 120 mm top exhaust capabilities.

Thanks! I've seen this setup before, but prefer to be able to mount that 240mm AIO on the upper side like in the R15. Any ideas?

Depends on whether that HDD bracket on top can be removed. As far as I can see that's the only thing that gets in the way.

Yes, we've seen them. A radiator taking in fresh ambient air from the front mount will function better than a radiator taking in heated air from inside the case.

The HDD bracket can certainly be removed. You may need to Dremel some metal to get a clear air flow pathway for the second top rad fan.
