Some thoughts on the Dell's Alienware keyboard + mouse

Question

I got in my 'light' keyboard & mouse combo. I like the feel of it and the FX app that downloaded automatically worked fine. There was one problem I noticed immediately. It is difficult to see the !@#$%^&*() keys.  I had to select a dark blue for those keys to make them visible.  If I had to do this over again I would get the black keyboard as I suspect those keys to be more visible.       I thought I could use a magnetic micro-USB adapter to connect to the mouse but it would not fit inside the mouse     Dell's usb plug was a custom fit with side dovetails.  I would have to mode the magnetic adapter to make it slide in.  My old keyboard was a Logitech 850 and the ASDE key lettering disappeared months ago.  I had obtained sticky key letters that matched the key matte pretty well.  Note sure what can be done should that happen on this keyboard.

I recently picked up the same setup, but went with the dark side of the moon versions.

I like them and no visibility issues. I too was not thrilled with the cord and mouse setup, so just shifted to using it corded. I really did not see any advantage to using the mouse wirelessly.

The way I minimize abnormal keyboard wear is I use a Logitec G13 game pad. I like the combination.

I had to turn the mouse off and back on to get the LEDs to start working again.  Only discovered this as I was boxing it up to return to Dell.

I use an ROG Claymore keyboard. It works awesome and the build quality is outstanding. No issues with it at all.   Not exactly cheap, but well worth the investment in my opinion.

I use the cord vs wireless.  I connect the keyboard to the pc and and mouse wired to the keyboard.  I do have a keyboard drawer on my desk so the wiring is completely hidden.  I have no issues with key visibility and do much more light zoning than yours.
