X51 R2, No Boot & Infinite Beeps
Hey guys,
My Alienware started acting weird around 4-5 months ago, as it won't boot while getting infinite beeps upon turning it on. It usually booted fine after many attempts, but with each incident, it took more restart attempts to get it to work.
I ended up avoiding shutting down/restarting my PC completely in fear that it won't start again.
unfortunately, a few days ago windows restarted my PC for an update, and that was the last time I saw it start
I'm well aware of this notorious Issue. From what I've seen in the forums and the Internet is that it can be solved with:
- Draining the charge by holding the power button etc.
- Making sure that rams are placed properly or switching the ram sticks etc.
- CMOS Jumpstart.
I tried all these steps multiple times, but no joy. ( Obviously except getting a new Mobo)
My question is:
How can I make sure that it's not a CPU issue before I buy a new Mobo from eBay or somewhere?
I'm worried that I end up buying a new Mobo to end up having to get a new CPU instead.
any advice?
cheers

X51 R1 and R2 board can be put in a new case with regular power supply. Also needs PCI-E riser so that you can access the connections for usb etc.
CMOS battery is an obvious fix however its non standard

However I would not keep updating an X51 but rather I would recommend a Dell T1700 Tower so that you can use parts from your X51 in a newer model that works fine with windows 11.

In your case the beeps may be ram or psu or both.
