I have already tried restarting the computer and uninstalling the alien ware command center. In addition to this I have made sure that it is the latest version  which is 3.5.  If there is any way to solve this please let me know. Thank you

I will recommend you to uninstall the command center shut down the system and perform a power drain, after that flash the BIOS to the latest version you find in the Dell support site and install the command center one more time.

Let me know if that fixes the issue.

Hi,
Firstly thank you for your help and I shall try the method as soon as I get home however I got this computer in mid 2014 so should the BIOS not already be on the latest version?
which is

So should I still update it to the latest version?
Also what do you mean by flash the bios? Do you mean update it?

And did you perform the power drain?

Can you please run the AlienFX tester and let me know if all the lights are working?

Yes I completed the power drain and for some reason the alien fx tester would not run so I'm not sure what's wrong

You must get MIO-Board working in Dell Diags (PSA/ePSA) outside of Windows first.

Yes, for Win8.x on an Aurora R4, you can run CC 3.6.x or latest.

Its not that the fan isnt running at a normal speed though and the lights are working as when it turns on its all  red the problem is the CC isnt detecting it and I am not able to change it

Are you getting an error message when you run the AlienFx tester?

yea I do sadly

System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
at AlienLabs.AlienFX.Tools.Classes.CommunicationServiceClass.SetFirmwareFilesPath(String path)
at AlienLabs.AlienFX.Tester.TesterMainForm..ctor()
at AlienLabs.AlienFX.Tester.App.AppStartup(Object sender, StartupEventArgs args)

that is the error I received.

I have also completed a full diagnostics test and everything came back at 100% so i have no Idea whats going on.

Any help would be appreciated,

thanks so much

In that case you might be facing a problem with the IO board which is the one that controls the system lights.

However I have run a systems diagnostic test that says all the hard ware is running perfectly and I have also checked that there are no unknown decides in the device manager

Exactly what "systems diagnostics test" are you running?
Are you running a Dell supplied one that runs outside of Windows?
Is the "MIO-Board" specifically named (toward bottom of list) and shown to be working properly?

I have run the dell supplied one as well as the one when you boot up the computer and press f12. forgot exactly what its called however both of them have said that all hardware is working 100%.

Ok good (the one from F12).

I still don't think you are answering my question:

Is the "MIO-Board" specifically named (toward bottom of list) and shown to be working properly? Please answer yes or no.

This is important because ... if the MIO-Board is locked-up or defective ... Dell Diagnostics will just skip-it and say the all other hardware is working 100%.
