Alienware 14. BIOS corruption or ROM error
Hello Team,
I was wondering if the Forum could help me with an issue I have. I've got an Alienware 14 and It fails to boot. When I turn it on all I get is a Single beep code. This seems to be a BIOS corruption or ROM error. I was wondering if anyone has managed to flash this BIOS? I have found forums with details on how to do this but not with the BIOS i have. Any help would be much appreciated!
Cheers,
Vanisimus

Hi Vanisimus,
It is unfortunate that the computer is not booting. Request you to try following the below steps which might help:
(1) Turn off the computer.
(2) Remove all the external peripherals like AC Adaptor, battery, flash drives, etc.
(3) Press and hold the power button for 30sec which releases the static on the computer ( if any).
(4) Put back the battery and plug in the AC Adaptor.
(5) Let the computer charge for some time.
(6) Try turning on the computer. If the same issue happens then you may use the below link for manual of Alienware M14X and try reseating memory modules and coin cell battery:

At this point a BIOS update is not possible.
If the issue still persists then the Mother board needs to be replaced. You may use the below link and check warranty status of the system:

If the computer is out of warranty you may contact the out of warranty repairs team on 18002884410 (U.S only). They can help you further.
If the computer is in warranty do send me the system service tag via private message. I will check and see what can be done.

Cheers for that Information. I have already done the above steps with no luck. A blind Flash seems like the only way to fix the problem, well that or a new Motherboard. Cheers for your help,
Trent

Just to clear up some confusion, this system is the Alienware 14-R1, not the M14x-R1 or M14x-R2 model.
According to the Alienware 14-R1 Troubleshooting page, one beep is a motherboard failure. Can you tell us what preceded this failure? Did you attempt to load a bios update?
The tag you provided (do not post it publically) for the 14-R1 appears to be purchased in the Asia Pacific region? Is that correct?
