The only response I've received from Dell was in a support call. After updating the BIOS and some software related to Alienware FX, the problem persists. The support tech didn't know what the flashing meant and said that if the system seamed to be working okay, then there was probably nothing wrong. .
You know, except for the constant flashing of the power light that is probably indicative of some unseen hardware failure. I'll call support again today.

Hi there, I've received my Alienware 15 r3 last 2 weeks and it is also having the same problem.
