Alienware 17 Power LED and Screen Flickering
it is a laptop.
the screen flickers and the power LED flickers. both are synced up to the color cycle of the power LED. For a split second, when it reaches blue. both the power LED and the screen are stable, but then Immediately start flickering more and more, and then it gets less and less as the color approaches blue. so it cycles with the power LED color, and is only stable when it displays blue.
Here is the weird part. we already replaced the guys Power Button Board, and his AC Adapter. The problem was solved at the time. After a few months he brought his computer into our shop again, with the same issue. it returns a week after he got it back.
Here is the weirder part. it works with our Dell 90w charger. but not with his replacement 180w charger, or on the battery. for several hours I ran winstress, and the laptop did fine with our charger. but on battery or with his old or new charger, it flickers through the color cycle and stabilizes on blue.
So just so I have this clear. The power led and screen flicker only when customer power supply or without any power supply. with Tester power supply it is completely fine.
So for the real reason I am here.
I have talked to dell, and even attempted a region change, and warranty ownership change. both failed. The Customers laptop was given to him as a gift in china, he is a foreign exchange student, and doesn't know the correct address of the person who bought it. so I cannot get dell to help me with this. I was told to call china support. but on dells site, the china support number page tells me its sorry, but the page has been moved or something.
if anyone has any experience with this issue. I would love some help.

**bump* ***UPDATE***
today: found out the screen backlight is whats flickering. can see screen, but backlight flickers with power led.
holding d when booting to start dell diag, it finished with hdd error, but everything else was fine.
Realized something today about the Power LED color cycle. when using our test 90w adapter. the light stays blue, and the system is stable. but on battery power or customer 180w adapter, the color cycles and when it reaches blue its stable for a second, but then goes back to flickering,
so it seems that the blue power led light is what its supposed to be on for proper charging.
If anyone has any theories or ideas, I would love to discuss.
