Alienware 17 unstable wifi

Hello, I've recently been experiencing some issues with wifi.  While playing games, everything will be fine but then it suddenly drops connection 15-20 minutes in, but it still shows that my wifi is at full bars. I've had this computer for a couple years now and have never had this problem come up before.  Just a note, I'm by no means experienced when it comes to these kinds of things so please try to make your suggestions easier to comprehend.  Thank you in advance!!

Hi,

To better assist you, please confirm the revision of your Alienware 17 (example= Alienware 17 R2). If possible, connect an Ethernet cable from your modem/router to your system and test if this issue also happens with a LAN connection.

Hello there, i believe my model is just the 17, not a revision.  Also, I connected the Ethernet and it seems to work but I was able to find a solution but I'm not sure of its viability as a long term fix.  I saw a suggestion to update my qualcom wireless network adapter to a lenovo version and it seems to have fixed my issue.  Again, I'm not completely sure if this is the best fix so do you possibly have a better solution?

Have you checked your win 10 network settings in control panel? Make sure you are on private network, turn off feature that allows computer to drop connection based on power usage and in settings turn off Wi-Fi sense. Update drivers in programs and features and not from dell site. I have 17 r3 and filled both hard drives with steam library with no issues. This is my second 17 r3. Bricked the first one trying to be a good gamer and update everything. Windows 10 has fingers in everything. I think many people are having problems trying to optimize their system without doing homework on  win 10... including dell tech support.

I'm actually still using windows 7 right now so it can't be related to windows 10.  Are there any other possible solutions?  Downloading the lenovo driver was indeed only a temporary fix.
