Alienware Alpha - Software causing false positive cheat/hack detection?
Hello,
Since the Alienware Alpha is new, I figured I would pose this question. My account was recently banned by Sony Online Entertainment due to their cheat detection being triggered by my new Alienware Alpha system. The thing is, I've only had this system for a little over a month and have only installed software via Steam, Battle.net or the SOE website. I haven't installed anything else from other sites.
They also said that whoever used the computer *before* me was the one using the cheats/hacks. But no one else has access to my computer--I'm single and live alone. I'm literally the only person using it.
The only thing I could think of is the new Alienware UI or something else specific to the Alpha running passively in the background could be triggering a false positive. Has anyone else run into issues like this while playing games on the Alpha?

It is more then likely a glitch on their end that they need to fix, especially with how many times Sony has been hacked. It could also be a something dealing with SOE being sold and transferred to another company, but I haven't read any timetable on that. Regardless from what I have seen of my Alpha, its just windows 8.1 with some Dell software and an XMBC interface called the Alpha Console Mode for steam use, none of which would interfere with SOE or any other online service that I know of. I could be wrong though but I would talk with SOE again, especially since no one has used your computer and Dell certainly didn't.

I agree with beamermt79 it shouldn't come up as a cheat/hack and the information provided is rather vague. Unfortunately company's like SOE aren't very helpful in this regard, but I'd ask if they had a log file or a record of their evidence though legally they don't have to do anything. If its your account banned then someone previously cheating on the PC doesn't make sense as that would be like getting arrested because the previous owner of your recently purchased used car ran a stop sign and that's not considering the computer was purchased new.
Your only hope to save the account would be to contact SOE and hope they can specifically state which terms of use you violated and when(when is very important) and how. If they link the violation to Alienware software then you may need to get into contact with someone with Dell/Alienware to contact SOE about their software, or simply not use the software when playing SOE games.
