Alienware Aurora R3 Upgrade Compatibly query.

Hi,

I bought an Alienware Aurora-R3 about a year ago, it appealed to me mainly because of the fact it's so 'upgradable' and now that my warranty has expired it's time to do it. The only concern I have is that some of my upgrades may not be compatible. I'm not the most experienced PC builder and I don't want to kill my lovely machine, but I do want to increase the power. I did some research on all of the components before I wrote this so i'm fairly sure they will all be fine. If someone with a bit more experience and know-how could take a few minutes to have a look and just tell me if these things will work or not it'd be greatly appreciated. :)

My original PC specifications are as follows:

Aurora-R3 (A05) Motherboard
525W Power Supply Unit
Intel Core i5-2500K @ 3.30GHz CPU
6GB (2x2GB + 2x1GB) 1333MHz Dual Channel Memory
Single 1GB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460
1TB(2x500GB) Serial ATA Raid 0 "Stripe" HDD

And the following are the upgrades I have in mind:

PSU -  Corsair Pro1050W Modular power supply (http://www.yoyotech.co.uk/item-detail.php?products_id=4373751)
CPU -  Intel Sandybridge i7-2600K Unlocked Core i7 Quad-Core Processor @ 3.4GHz (already installed)
RAM -  Corsair Vengeance 16GB (4x4GB) 1600MHz Quad Channel Memory (http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-309-CS&groupid=701&catid=8&subcat=813)
GPU - EVGA 2GB GeForce GTX 680 (http://www.scan.co.uk/products/2gb-evga-gtx-680-superclocked-28nm-pcie-30-6208mhz-gddr5-gpu-1058mhz-boost-1124mhz-cores-1536-brown-)
HDD -  Corsair 120GB SSD (http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0057QETGS/ref=noref?ie=UTF8&s=computers&psc=1) [Windows only installed]
         - Western Digital Caviar Black 1 TB HDD (http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0036Q7MV0/ref=asc_df_B0036Q7MV07576075?smid=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&tag=googlecouk06-21&linkCode=asn&creative=22206&creativeASIN=B0036Q7MV0)
          - Keeping the 1TB(2x500GB) Serial ATA Raid 0 "Stripe" HDD so all 4 slots are used.

Thanks in advance,

Dann

I did look at that, but he has changed his Motherboard so it changes many of the variables. I'll post on that website. Thanks for the reply!

Did you read this thread yet? en.community.dell.com/.../19439601.aspx

I would also post your question here so the guys that do this sort of thing can answer you. forum.desktopreview.com/alienware

From reading your parts list I would say yes but don't hold me to it.
