Alienware Aurora: Seeking A10 BIOS update
I have been searching for awhile... cannot seem to find anything in relation to the BIOS update. I am still running A01!!!!
Came across BIOS updates when attempting to overclock my system. I don't really want to do it until I can get A10 up, as the overclock specs I found work on BIOS A10 to bring my i7 920 2.7ghz to 3.66ghz. Definitely worth it... but not sure if any of the updates from A01-A10 will effect it.
Please let me know how I can go about updating my BIOS! :D

If you have an i7-920, you have an Aurora R1.
Get your BIOS updates from support.dell.com . If the wrong ones show for your Service Tag, enter through Generic Machine List. For R1, A10 or A11 is the latest. I'm still running A09 and it works perfectly.
Use caution upgrading your BIOS if out-of-warranty. If you "brick" the motherboard, it might be expensive.
Do BIOS upgrade from DOS environment with self-bootable media ... much safer and more trouble-free (less chance of bricking).
See my favorite Threads (under my UserName) for DOS-Flash suggestions or BIOS warnings ... or just search forum.

Good Luck. I suggest you not do it unless you are having a specific problem. I also suggest you turn-off all OverClocks and run everything at stock speeds.

Because many machines get bricked. So bad, in fact, that Dell has changed their Bricked Motherboard Replacement Policy many times over the years. It's so limited now that it's basically non-existent.
A01 is very old ... Most first machines were released A04. A09 is popular and stable. Do want you want (it's your machine) but I'm going to stick with "don't do it or risk it". If you kill the machine it would hardly be worth it.

Why is no one responding to this...? There's a lot of people on the forum and a lot of people responding to other threads... I am just trying to ensure I don't brick my system...
