Alienware FX Light not working on Aurora

Question

Hey guys, I have an alienware aurora, and ever since i got it the left side light has been giving me trouble. The first day i got the computer, all the lights would come on except for the left one, until windows loaded up then it would turn off randomly. A few days later the light stopped working completely and will not turn on at all. All other lights work fine, i tryed to change the light scheme on AlienFX but the light still does not work no matter what color or light scheme i try. The light im talking about is on the panel of the computer which detaches from the computer when you open the computer. Im thinking the metal electrical supply connectors between the computer and the panel are not touching, so no electricity is able to pass through but im not sure. Before i try to contact support, does anyone have advice?

I would try taking the side panel off and putting it back on, and see if that seats the connectors properly. That being said, please follow the safety instructions in the manuel before doing that.

I had the same problem with my Aurora, and it worked for me.

I'm having the exact same issue with my new R6. The side panel lights seem to work when they want to. No rhyme or reason. I have a hard time believing that they would make a world class case except for the part that requires you to constantly open and close, attach/re-attach. It just doesn't fit. I've never seen AW tech support comment on this except asking whether you've in-installed/re-installed Command Center.

This thread is from 2010. About an Aurora-R1. Completely different everything (Case and LEDs, MIO-Board). Even a different version of Windows and DotNet.

Main difference in your concern is different LED driver circuits and the big one is different version of Alienware Command Center and AlienFX.

Remember, this is secret Alien Technology. [:)] (especially back then).
