I would try taking the side panel off and putting it back on, and see if that seats the connectors properly. That being said, please follow the safety instructions in the manuel before doing that. 

 

I had the same problem with my Aurora, and it worked for me.

I'm having the exact same issue with my new R6. The side panel lights seem to work when they want to. No rhyme or reason. I have a hard time believing that they would make a world class case except for the part that requires you to constantly open and close, attach/re-attach. It just doesn't fit. I've never seen AW tech support comment on this except asking whether you've in-installed/re-installed Command Center.

Jalbo,

This thread is from 2010. About an Aurora-R1. Completely different everything (Case and LEDs, MIO-Board). Even a different version of Windows and DotNet.
 
Main difference in your concern is different LED driver circuits and the big one is different version of Alienware Command Center and AlienFX.
 
Remember, this is secret Alien Technology. [:)]  (especially back then).
