Alienware M14X R2 flickering screen

it's been happening ever since i tried putting it in a bag. Started walking, went to school and back. Then it starts flickering. When i smack the computer it goes back to normal for a while. Therefore it's a physical problem. I just need the info in how i can fix it myself. Where is the source of the problem. When i smack the hard drive area it goes back to normal so yeah. help me this alienware is more of a pain than a pleasure.

Hi GamingTree,

I would suggest you to connect an external monitor to the computer and check the issue so that we can determine if it’s an issue with the LCD or motherboard.

Also, I’d suggest that you run the LCD BIST on your system to check if it’s a problem with the LCD screen. Please follow the steps mentioned below to run the “LCD BIST’.

  1. Turn of the computer.
  2. Press and hold down the ‘D’ key on the keyboard and press the Power button.
  3. You will see different colors on the LCD screen. Please check if the screen flickers.

Please get back to us with the results.
