You are paying for the name and styling.

Not uncommon.

I have the M17x and not one "XPS" or Studio XPS (they call them now), can even compare, at the very least, to the styling of my Alienware.

you pay for bragging rights I guess.

yeah i bought the m15x very reciently with the 1,73 ghz core i7 the 500gb harddrive and the upgraded 1gb graphic card with so i am feeling a bit ripped off. dont get me wrong the system is amazing but the whole thing stinks a bit. not a great way to treat customers if you want repeat business. i would not feel so bad if some one could explain why there is a difference in price even if it is just branding.

I had an xps 1530 and now have the AW M15.  Loved the xps, great laptop but ran into chronic overheating issues and as good as it was, it was no comparison to the AW M15 in terms of build quality and materials.  Although the specs may be similar with the existing M15 and a Studio xps 16 there is a difference is build composition, how much metal vs. plastic is in the chassis etc.

Dell allows you a 21 day return policy: order one of each and keep the one you like better and return the other.

That's just sour grapes IMO.

It was your decision to buy an Alienware M15x, rather than a similarly specced Dell model

BTW:  "Amazing" though your laptop might be, you may need to call tech support, because your CAPS LOCK key appears to be jammed ON

If the XPS was not available with Core i7, then why did you start off with this post?

Why is it if i spec an alienware M15x a new XPS core i7 with exactly the same specs the alienware is always €400 more expensive.
