Alienware X51 R2 - Bios password Lost - Not stolen!
Hello Alienware support forum,
About one year ago i bought a Alienware X51 R2 of the dutch ebay website called: "Marktplaats"
It runs Windows 7 and now that i want to upgrade to Windows 10, i need to get acces to the BIOS in order to boot from my USB drive with windows 10. The BIOS is password protected, so i took contact and called with with the orginal owner; this was a young kid about 15 years old. His mom bought the Alienware and she told he put a BIOS password but did forget it. I do have the name and adress of the Original owner.
A long time ago i contacted the Dell Alienware support in The Netherlands but they told me i need a new motherboard in that will cost about 300 Euro's to fix the BIOS password. They gave me a sort of a master biospassword but i can only put in 6 digets. The password they gave me was about 8 digets?
| Service Tag | J3508Z1 |
| Computer Model | Alienware X51 R2 |
| Shipping Date | 10/15/2013 |
| Country | Netherlands |
If i try to acces the bios i can only put in 6 digets and only 3 times then the Alienware shutsdown. I need a moderator form Alienware that can give me a good master password.

I suggest you download the x51-R2 Service Manual PDF.
This is just a consumer-class desktop, so a CMOS reset might do it.
