Alienware17 mousepad deactivates when keyboard is active

Hi,

I got my new Alienware 17 Laptop, but have a problem. I play a game that uses the WASD keys to move and the mouse to turn, but this laptop does not work with it. When ever I click a keyboard key, the mouse pad stops working. I have to stop pressing the keyboard and then swipe the mouse pad twice to get it to restart working. I went into mouse settings and unchecked "hide pointer while keyboard is active" but that did not solve the problem. Can anyone give me advice in how to fix this?

I fixed it actually, in the settings. It was the palm touch setting or something like that, which detects your wrist on the touchpad while your typing. When I turned it all the way down it worked fine.

Thanks Though

Hi Leopardfist,

Request you to uninstall/ reinstall touchpad drivers by following the below steps:

(1) Open device manager.

(2) Detect touchpad drivers, right click and uninstall it.

(3) You may now use the below link and download touchpad drivers by selecting the right operating system:

Now check if the same issue happens outside the game like on a word document.

You may also try connecting an external mouse and check if the same issue happens.

Do reply with your findings.

I just got a new alienware 17, and the touchpad does not work. I tried the f11 key and it says that the touchpad is on. Can you help?
