Area 51 BIOS

I just received my Area 51 last week.  It has the 980X processor in it with the BIOS Version A07.  I was not sure why they did not install the A08 version, but noted it had support for the 980X processor.  I am not having any problems with it, but was curious how the bios was even completing startup if the A07 shouldn't even recognize the processor.  Would it be better to update to A08, or should I just stick with A07 since I am not having any issues?

Thanks

I believe if it is not broke do not fix it, if everything is running good I would not change a thing, but if you start having problems

then consider it.

Go to Drivers and Support page and under bios go to A07. Under "Fixes and Enhancements" it says "Adds support for Gulftown 980x"

Didn't realize it said that, as A08 apparently adds the same support.  In either case, I updated to A08, but it either didn't take effect, or it shows A07 by mistake still.  Don't know if anyone else had that issue when they updated the BIOS.

Double check you got the right file. Enter your Service Tag. Just download the file again.

I'm guessing it's one you run from Windows. Save it to your HDD. Go to Properties and Unblock it. Turn off your Anti-Virus temporarily. Try again.
