Aurora-R1 Intel Chipset Software Update Question
I've been trouble shooting my computer lately in an attempt to breath some new life into it. While running the system update tool on Dell's website, it tags the file "Intel Chipset Software Installation Utility, v.9.1.1.1019, A01" as urgent, and a second download "Broadcom 57XX Gigabit Integrated Controller, v.12.4.0.3, A02-1" as recommended.
I've downloaded and attempted run the Intel Chipset update, but it doesn't quite work. When I unzip the files, no setup or anything is initiated. Instead I have to locate the unzipped files in my Dell Drivers folder and initiate the setup myself. Upon doing this, I get an error stating "minimum system requirements not met" or something to that degree.
With the broadcom update, the installation wizard starts and functions just fine, but the install ultimately fails at the end, and I receive a message stating that no changes have been made to my computer.
I'm just curious as to what these two updates are exactly, if they are critical to the performance of my computer, and if so, how do I install them? Thank you.
P.S. I recently updated my BIOS and I must say that I was embarrassingly outdated in that department...version A04 to A11, heh.
