Aurora r4 - ePSA Error Code: 2000-0314
Hi all,
I've had my Aurora R4 for approx 10months, and had very little issues.
Recently (over the last week) when playing games, the system fan has begin to spin very loudly.
When idle or using the simple for web browsing, the fans is at approx 1100-1400rpm.
When a game is launched, it goes to approx 4200-4400rpm.
I've opened the system, but found little to no dust. I haven't poked about further than that.
I ran the ePSA check at the boot screen, and it has displayed the following:
Is this something that can be examined further by me?
Is it a hardware fault, and so is covered under warranty?
Any help would be appreciated on this.
Regards,
Robert.

Hi Robert,
I will be glad to help you. Request you to answer the below questions:
(1) Does the system fan spin loudly normally apart from playing games?
(2) Does the computer get hot?
You may try updating to the latest BIOS by using the below link:

If the issue still persists, do send me the system service tag via private message. I will check and see what can be done.

Hi Kiran,
(1) Does the system fan spin loudly normally apart from playing games?
It would begin to spin loudly anytime it had a heavy work load. As soon as the quit the game/application, it would return to normal.
(2) Does the computer get hot?
No, not that I noticed. The air flow from the rear of the PC was cool.
However, I was able to resolve the issue myself.
It was the same as as per: http://en.community.dell.com/owners-club/alienware/f/3746/t/19516339.aspx
The outflow was being block by the gel build up.
I removed the gel, applied new thermal paste and tested successfully.
Hopefully the issue won't return, but at least I now know the cause and fix required.
Thanks for getting back to me on this Kiran.
