if the backplate pushes out, then yes, remove it. if it seems permanent, then the three socket screws may be the reason
if that dark central 1808 brace, let's back up, if the three screws were removed, and the 'outer brace' can come off while the 1808 dark center brace can go back on (to re-secure the front socket latch assembly), then yes, back those three screws out - remove 'outer brace' and replace the front & back socket-1808 brace assembly; if not, contact Cryorig, see uTube and google for swap videos and tutorials. It almost sounds like you just need the correct screw thread and size

The Asetek cooler that bolts to those four posts uses an M3 (metric) thread
