Display Port
It is my understanding that the display port on my Dell Monitor is the samething as HDMI on TV's. There is also this same port on my graphic cards. I am hooked up right now using the DVI cable that came with the monitor. Would I gain anything by switching to the HDMI instead of the DVI?

I beleive that post is incorrect. DVI- is video, HDMI - is video and audio.

Absolutely nothing, they have the same video signal, the only difference is that the dvi cable can transport audio as well.
