Driver power state failure alienware m17x r3

hello

 

i recently got an alienware m17x r3 laptop and it has been crashing randomly with a blue screen saying driver_power_state_failure

 

my specs:

 

Processor : Intel Core i7 Processor 2630QM (2.00Ghz, 6MB, 4C)

Display : 17.3in WideHD+ (1600 x 900) WLED LCD

Camera : Integrated 3.0 Mega Pixel HD Camera

Memory : 4096MB (2x2048) 1333MHz DDR3 Dual Channel

Hard Drive: 320GB (7,200rpm) SATA Hard Drive

Graphics : 1.5GB GDDR5 NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460M w/ Optimus Technology

Wireless : European Intel Wireless LAN 6300 3x3 (802.11a/b/g/n) Card

 

i recently transfered all my files from my old laptop (vista) to my new laptop using that easy transfer program that windows 7 has

 

any help would be much appreciated

I have recently purchased the same laptop this month (June) and I am receiving the same error I have called tech support 4 times and they just hang up on my after putting me on hold for 10 minutes

update the driver that is doing it...

Perhaps /morblore/ can tell us which driver it is that requires updating. I am getting exactly the same BSOD. The crash is rare, once every two days, but annoying as heck.

I have updated everything I know to update, but Dell is not helping and likely won't considering that they are also abandoning support for the video driver.
