DSUPDATE runtime error - looking for download url

My DSUPDATE is failing with a runtime error. C++ library error.

System is up to date according to Microsoft updates.

No help from Dell/Alienware appart from support for resetting to factory format and that was for a fee which I refused to pay.

According to Dell I have all the latest drivers.

There is no check or download on Dell for Alienrespawn software so assume that is direct from the alienware site.

I would like to check the alienware download site for updates for alienrespawn and download and install manually.

Any one able to advise me of the correct website to check for updates and is it possible to download and install manually?

Wondering if you ever found the answer to this problem as it's occuring on my brand new Alienware pc.  I don't use Respawn so thinking maybe I should just uninstall it.  What did you end up doing?

I wrote this up a while back. Alien ReSpawn is just an Alienware branded version of Dell-DSL.

Aurora R1/X58 (Win-7 Ultimate 64bit)
Dell Data Safe Local

Processes:
Toaster.exe
STService.exe

Services:
SftService - SoftThinks Agent Service

Uninstalled on 3-2011
- Doesn't even detect Restore Partition any more, even though I never messed with it.
- An update a while back seemed to kill it (not that I ever used it)

Stopped these Processes:
Toaster.exe
STService.exe

Uninstalled Dell DSL and rebooted

Directory in "Program Files (x86)" is removed
Start-Menu Program icons are removed
Tray Icon is removed
Processes are gone
Service is not running any more
- Partiton still there (of course)

To finish, Uninstalled DSL "Support Software"
- separate entry

I ended up purchasing the full Dell product.

Has been running ok since.

Still watching out for the same error though.

Pretty lame that 2 years later, people are experiencing the same issue but whatever.  I'll probably go ahead and uninstall it.  Thanks for the info!
