Hi!

What type of HDMI cable are you using? Have you tested different cables and devices?

Try doing a clean installation of the video driver as explained here.

Hello Naomi,

Thank you for your reply.

I'm using a standard HDMI cable, same one that i use in my TV.

It need a different one to work!?

I'm also tried 3 different ones but still the same message. I tried before and after Video card clean installation.

I think is something related with the OSD software. but i don't know! Any Ideas?

I believe you might have a cable  issue..

the M18X  HDMI plug are recessed in  to far, due to the alloy casing thickness, thus causing cable to not insert and make proper connection, what I had to do with hdmi in cables and  even external monitor cable(hdmi out) was trim some plastic from the connection(1/8 inch usually) and have had no issues since,  also check device manager make sure there  is no yellow ! beside anything or missing drivers.. but im leaning to cable not inserting far enough

I've been having this problem since last year. Currently it's not working.

My spec: M18X R2. AMD 7970M Crossfire.

Called Dell and they changed the MOBO, as well as the I/O Board and graphic cards but it still couldn't detect any input. Now even the output is not working.

I've reformatted, reinstall to original factory settings, install the latest updates, etc.... and yet nothing's working.

Originally when I bought this laptop it was working but suddenly it just went like this, wish I knew what's wrong.

Thank you Luke,

I have the same spec as you....

I'm facing issues with this and output as well. They changed my I/O board as well.

Your crossfire work with the newest driver from AMD, or just with the Dell ones!?

thanks!

So far, I've only updated with drivers posted on the Dell website. I've been trying to look for similar other cases on the internet for a very long time but I guess yours is spot on same as mine.

Now I can only wish that Dell would take this matter seriously and come up with a solution for us.

Hello again! Does anyone with ATI video card can make it work? If yes, what is your operating system and do you have any specs of the cables!? Thanks!
