My order says it will be delivered today..i ordered mine on June 10 and it orginally said i would get it on July 10..a total of  a15 day turnaround..i will try to post a youtube unboxing but i cant make any promises...From what i was told by the Dell agent it gets built and shipped from Malaysia. I wish it was made in America though.

Two questions, you are from Europe right? And your order wasn't cancelled? One more question hahaha, what spec have you ordered? I am just a bit annoyed again... from what I am seeing I ordered mine a week before people who are now getting theres! And my EDD is still July 23rd [=S]. Congrats though mate! I am happy for you at least people are getting them in Europe now.

Ok, update.

By default, the system is setup to use the single video card??

You have to go to BIOS and disable the integrated graphics to see the dual GTX280Ms.

I would think that the dual graphics card would be enabled by default.

I called Alienware tech support and they confirmed what I did.

A very small number of people have posted here, expected more...

Anyways, I get mine today. I just wanted to see if anyone else was reporting light bleed on the bottom 1.5-2 inches or so of their screen. Been hearing nothing but problems with things like  light bleed, screen being too dim for a 400 nit dual lamp CCFL, a horrible auto-dimming feature that can't be disabled, and finnicky volume controls on the touch panel.

Also, just a heads up, notebookreview.com's forums are filled with LITERALLY thousands upon thousands of posts regarding the above issues as well as the many strong points of this beast. Pics, video, benchmarks, everything... let me know! ;)

I read some where, the the intergraded graphic card causes that problem with the light bleed (9400M).  Have you disabled it in the bios?

I didn't notice any light bleeding problems with mine.

To answer your question, I definitely disabled the Integrated video card in BIOS and only used the dual gtx280.

Just a datapoint but maybe this will help.

This has nothing to do with the graphics card, graphics card's dont control the uniformity of light output my the dual CCFL's in the LCD panel. If you get to a black screen (like with a screen saver or the beginning of a dvd) you should see what I'm talking about. After spending some time with it, it's not very noticeable when browsing the internet because of the taskbar and what not, but when watching a movie/trailer and gaming it becomes apparent more often. Any time the bottom of the screen is supposed to be dark it rears it's head.

On another note, the auto-dimming feature does a horrible job of determining when to adjust the brightness... it seems to be software/driver based as it does not change when covering parts of the display bezel (as with a light sensor type screen). I'm not so worried about this portion, though as I'm sure it can be fixed by Dellienware in a driver update.

Hey, what's up guys..

i'm really interested in the new m17x and about to order mine in a few days time..

with the QX9300 processor, dual gtx280m and 8gigs of ddr 1333mhz ram..just how fast the system really is?

i searched for the benchmark score..but it doesn't seems much websites posted it..

and also..my question is...does the system produce a lot of heat and noise when it is in a game mode?

and what about the auto-dimming features, the screen that is too dim  and the light bleed problems?any of you having this problem?

you reply would be much appreciated..thanks!
