You have to uninstall your Nvidia driver (when not using the Graphics Amplifier) or AMD driver (when using the Graphics Amplifier) and then uninstall the Intel driver in order to update the Intel Graphics driver. You can use a software called DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) to make this easy.

This also applies to other laptops, not just Alienware ones.
Plus, it's sometimes a good idea to uninstall drivers in order to reinstall the newest ones.
