Problem with Steam Machine
I bought a Steam Machine from Best Buy and sold the controller + hard drive to buy a Windows 10 license because the Canadian Alienware website shows that the Steam Machine should have a GTX 960 GPU.
Now my problem is that, after installing Windows, I used Speccy to check out the specs of the device. The GPU isn't a 960. Websites show that it's a GPU comparable to an 860M.
It looks like only the US is selling the 960 GPU configuration advertised on the Canadian site and Best Buy obviously wont let me return the Steam Machine since I sold has components missing now.
I'm not sure what to do since I was mislead by the website into thinking that the Steam Machine had a 960 GPU.

Hi,
The one in our website is the Steam Machine R2 and you probably bought the R1 from best buy. The Steam R1 is the one that has a GPU comparable to a GTX860M.

The Canadian Alienware website still has the R1 and shows under the FAQ that it has a GTX 960.
The model I purchased from BB and the model listed on Alienware.ca for 899.99 is the same one. Only the US site shows the R2

Send me a private message with the service tag so I verify the model!

I don't think it will make much of a difference at this point. I complained to a manager yesterday and today they changed the website and linked it to the right page. So basically I was right and they fixed their mistake, but I didn't get anything for it.
When I first submitted this thread, clicking "Let's Game" on Alienware.ca/steammachine linked to www.dell.com/.../pd and as of today, they changed it to link to www.dell.com/.../pd
I will make sure this gets escalated well beyond the supervisors and managers
