Problems detecting Hard Drive in UEFI Mode
I've had trouble with this for quite some time now. I have the Alienware m17xr4 8GB ram, Nvidia GTX 675M, 120 GB SSD, 600GB Hard drive , and a 500GB hard drive. I currently have windows 7 installed on the 120 GB SSD UEFI boot mode. What im trying to do is set up a Dual boot Windows 7 and Ubuntu. Windows 7 on SSD and Ubuntu on the 500GB Hard drive. Now my problem starts with windows not booting the 500 GB Hard Drive in UEFI Mode at It Recognises the 600 GB Hard drive just fine. When I Try Ubuntu without installing, Booting off of a USB Ubuntu Detects it just fine. I tryed formatting it from ext4 to Fat32 hopeing windows would detect it in Fat32. No Luck. Im not too sure but I belive I had problems in the past with the Graphics Card not being detected when booting from Legacy Mode. Ive also tried Wubi set up to boot off the SSD primary C: drive and there was a permissions error tward the end of the installation. Tried Wubi twice and got the same error both times.
This has been a problem for quite some time now. I'd like to get it taken care of. Why is setting up a dual boot on alienware m17xr4 so Difficult??
