Received your system?

Due to the amount of delays AW is having, I thought it would be a good idea to kind of track the build progress of these systems, or at least have a guess.

Please post your order date, system type (just the model), and your shipping date.

Thank you!

It's ok M5xjr, but thanks for the concern. The reason I didn't phone them when I discovered their error was I didn't want to send it back.

I managed to install windows and all the software from the utility disk. The only thing that bothers me a bit is on start up. I managed to download some desktop wallpaper and changed my icon to an alienware one.

I might phone tech support to see if they can get me that boot or startup screen...the black one with the red symbols that says alienware.

I hope everything will be straightened out by the end of the weekend.

I can give it to you if you want. Talk to me on PM and we can share some files.

Thanks for the offer Johnnyboy24 but I just got off the phone with alienware tech support ,accidently called legacy support but the guy was great. Within minutes he fixed everything...simply amazing.

Why is mine delayed then, lol. I mean I ordered one they were promoting for that day and didn't change any specs on it. I'm so confused.

Yea!

My third delay! from 3/3 to 3/10 and now 3/17.

Hey Zygocyte You are lucky you only had to wait a couple of weeks.

I ordered mine on Feb 10th...yours has the 5970, mines has the 5870.

Come on Dell, what do I have to do get this computer to my door step?

I never felt so betrayed by a company that I've spent so much money on,

TVs, PCs, Family and Friends PCs, Company's PCs, Printers, Monitors,

Mice, Keyboards, Speakers..You NAME IT!

Hi there,

Ordered and paid for a Dell Inspiron lap top on the 16th February 2010.  Tracking the order on-line says the unit was with the local courier on the 26th.  Its now the 7th March...

I have sent 5 email cases to Dell.  Absolutely no response.  Not even a single follow-up email or phone call.

I have phoned all the customer service numbers (New Zealand and Australia) and have spend at least an 1 hour on hold.   No phones are getting answered.

I have tried the on-line chat on the NZ and Australian web-sites.  These just generate web-site errors.  (yeah, go-figure, a computer company right?)

I have even tried calling Dell in the USA to try and get a real person to talk to me... finally got though and guess what, they advise me that my best course action is to phone the local customer NZ service numbers...

Dell you have my money... can I have my computer please?

What hard drive configuration did you pick?  I read somewhere that they had an issue sourcing 500GB drives I think it was.  Either that or the video card maybe?

Strange, I ordered my system after you and already received it.  Aurora i7-920 (non-OC), Dual 5870's, 12GB RAM, Dual BD Writer, Media Reader.  You're running dual video, so you don't have the tuner or sound cards, etc, right?  Very odd.

I have the 750GB drive, nothing else special at all. Have the 2 vid cards so no room for any other pci device. 525W PSU. That leaves only a couple things that can be causing the issue. Interestingly, I went to configure another system and noticed that the 525W isn't an option anymore. *sigh*. I thought I was doing the configuration that would cause the least amount of delay (since it was a configuration they put together and offered). Oh well. We'll see what happens.

Sounds like it might be the PSU ... I have heard different things regarding the 525W PSU.  On one hand, I heard it is discontinued and all new orders get the 875W.  On the other hand, I heard it is no longer user selectable and the only way you get the larger PSU is if you buy dual video cards.

I'm running a 5770 right now 'till my new rig arrives sometimes next week.  Very nice card....good framerates on my 1900X1200 monitor and quiet under heavy load.  But you'll need 600W to push it in crossfire.
