No. We provided you software (AlienRespawn) on the system for you to create an operating system USB restore key.

Where from? Alienrespawn isn't installed on 17R3s, where did you get your copy from?

Not these days really. It's all electronic so create your own local USB copy.

What laptop model do you have and what version of Windows came pre-installed?

FYI, AlienRespawn is only for Win7, Win8, and Win8.1.

For Windows-10 (64-bit) use the tools & utilities built-into Microsoft Windows.

Dell might have an Win-10 OS .ISO for you to download, but I just used the one from Microsoft.

I also use Macrium Reflect Free for Drive Imaging, cloning, and backups.

Exactly, which is why I find the insistence that Alienrespawn is installed on the 17r3 - even by support - to be a little strange. I'm sure I'd seen somewhere on the a support website that Alienrespawn had been deprecated since the release of the Windows 10 systems.

I re-installed Windows on this 17r3 as part of the initial troubleshooting for all the issues it came with (what a waste of time) but at least Dell support did arrange to ship a USB recovery key once they had stock, not that it is a big deal.

OK, so no AlienRespawn or DBaR should be installed or run on this machine.

If you don't want to download Win10.ISO from Microsoft (and burn to a flash-drive), you can try this.
I think this Dell Support website capability is kinda new.
