Removing internal graphics card when using the Alienware Amplifier
Hello,
Are there any side-effects if I remove my internal graphics card while using my Alienware Graphics Amplifier as the main card?

Some reasons:
- increase air flow in the case
- lower the power usage as I'm not using the card
- potentially selling the internal card
Anyone know of any side-effects if doing this?

I always thought they ran together sort of like a hybrid type system. Is there a reason you want to remove your internal gpu?

Hmm Good answers.. I can try and ask someone who may know, and this response will 'bump' up your question too.

Hello! So I received a response and basically it boils down to Dell never having tried it so they don't know. If your laptop/desktop has a removable GPU, you can always give it a shot and see (if you haven't already). I highly doubt it would harm anything.

well since the laptops don't have removable gpu anymore chances are slim :O
but for something like the X51 I can see where this might be a nice advantage, less stress on the power brick .. to bad I don't have an amp.. :(*
