Screen Flickered then died on Alienware 17

So a year ago i made the mistake of buying a dell product and now the among other things the screen randomly froze when i was gaming. When i ctrl alt delete during that the screen went black and remained that way. I restarted my laptop and all was fine for about an hour, then it started flickering then it went black and stayed that way. I restarted yet again and it never displayed anything i could hear the windows starting sounds, I was even able to log in but there was still no image but the back lighting. I checked that it wasnt the gpu using 2 external monitors on mini dp and hdmi both monitors functioned. So at this point what possible fixes are there for this piece of ***? (warranty is over by like 2 weeks)

update* So I tried hooking up my desktop to my laptop using hdmi in and the display worked...so i tried plugging my laptop into its self using a hdmi to display port adapter and the display works how ever when i unplug the hdmi it no longer works....
