I recently removed my coolong unit and CPU do do some cleaning. Did not know about the thermal paste between the cooling unit and the CPU itself so i was not able to replace it, but i have now ordered some.
Is it dangerus to use the PC again if i just put everything back without replacing the Thermal paste or shuld i wait to use the pc till i get the paste ?
Using the system without thermal paste on the CPU is not recommended. It might cause damage if you are persistent in attempting to run it that way, but the most likely result will be overheating and thermal shutdown without any resulting damage.
I recommend IC Diamond or Liquid Ultra thermal paste. Both are very good, but the latter is superior. If the contact area on your heat sink is copper you can use either one. You cannot apply Liquid Ultra directly to aluminum.
