Unique System Restore
I have an Alienware Area 51 R2. While in Task Manager a few days ago I accidently removed some processes to boot up Windows. I didn't know this at the time. I rebooted the system a few days after that as I normally do to clean up processes and when the computer tried to restart it did so normally until it came time to boot to Windows. Then I got a blank, black screen and windows did not boot up at all. After that I tried to reboot using both F3 setup and F12 reboot to no avail. The system did not come with a recovery disk and I kept putting off making one so I did not have that to turn to. It so happened that my wife has an HP system with windows 8.1 like mine so we bought a 64 gb flashdrive, made a recovery file and it worked....except, now I have HP programs instead of Dell programs. I can get on the net and get my email and I reinstalled Steam and all my games which, truthfully are mostly what I use the computer for. So, my dilemma is this, I am afraid to reboot my computer after cleaning with AWC (Advanced Windows Care Pro) for fear that I may lose everything again and really I want my programs from Dell back. I went to this site and ran a diagnostic on the system and they reccomended 17 driver installs, my wife is paranoid and she does not think I should download and install the drivers. Frankly, I pushed the budget when I bought this computer as we are both retired and on a fixed income. Dell wanted big bucks for me to send my computer to them for a possible fix (over $400.00) and we don't have that kind of money. I know that everything I have done to this point is probably dumb ideas but it has been done and nothing I can do about that. Is my system doomed to be an HP system now or can I possiblly save it and revert it back to Dell? As of right now, the computer works so.............don't know where to turn.

I will recommend you to request the windows CD so you can make a clean installation with the original Dell software.
You can request it here and if you need a guide on how to reinstall windows check out this article.
