VGA port not recognizing any input.
I am trying to set up a second monitor but the VGA port is not responding to having a monitor plugged in.
Screen optimization cannot locate a second screen.
I am unsure what to do or try.
One screen is plugged in the DVI, the second into a DVI to VGA adapter then to the VGA port.

Please provide us with the Alienware model name and revision (if there is one) for your computer. If you are not sure how to find this, you can open the MSINFO32 window which will display a summary of your system information and the system model should be listed there.
To open the MSINFO32 window, just search for it on the Windows search engine or type it on the “Run” window to bring it up.

Model: Alienware X51 R2
I also recently updated the BIOS to, Alienware A07. In hopes it was due to something not being up to date.

So you are trying to connect a secondary monitor using a DVI-VGA adapter, is this correct? Did you make sure to have the VGA input set on the monitor settings? Sometimes on the monitor itself, you have to set the input video mode to the corresponding input, make sure its set to VGA. Have you tested the monitor and the cable with another device to make sure it works?
