Audio switching query
I have an M17x R2 and have just added a Sennheiser PC360 headset with Turtle Beach DSS surround sound processor. The headset connects to the processor instead of the dedicated headphone jacks which in turn connects to a USB port. This means that Windows sees the headphones as the default speakers. Even if I switch off the processor the sound does not return to the laptop speakers meaning I am compelled to make the switch manually via the sound option in the Control Panel. Yes, I know I can access this by right clicking on the volume icon and selecting Playback Devices but that is still too much hassle.
What I have done as an interim measure is create a shortcut to the Sound options and place it in my Stardock Object Dock for single click access. While this works I feel certain there must be a way to have the machine auomatically switch to whatever I am using. What I mean by that is that laptop speakers should be the default if the headphones are not switched on.
Anyone have any idea how I can achieve this please?
