Duplicate display

I have a 17R 3 with intel 530 graphics using a graphics amplifier with 1070 NVidia graphics card. The laptop settings are on duplicate monitor and do nothing when lid is closed. To get it to stay on duplicate when lid closes I need to disable the intel 530. Also to watch videos full screen it needs to be on duplicate or 530 card disabled. All drivers and Bios are current and up to date. Does any one have the answer its a pain having to but in a spacer to keep lid propped open just enough to stay on
