M17x R3 Power Adapter Graphics problem, help?
My laptop is:
M17x R3
Core i7-2670QM @ 2.20
16 gig of RAM
Nvidia 460M 1.5gig Graphics using Dell's 267 version Drivers
My issue:
While playing a game, running beautifully, my Power Adapter came unplugged, and the graphics capability and framerate dropped drastically. It was exactly like my old laptop where it would turn off my GPU and run integrated graphics to save battery life. I immediately tried the FN-F7 combo to switch back to my 460M once I plugged it back in, but that button is not active on my laptop, since it doesn't have a set up like that.
After that, I tried a restart, I tried unplugging and replugging my laptop back in. I tried a clean re-install of my Drivers. I also went into my Nvidia Control Panel and changed specific settings for my game to always use the 460M and run for highest performance.
Nothing has worked. I don't know what to do and am heartbroken at this point. I don't believe this computer system uses Optimus, so I can't do anything with that. The BIOS has no settings I can change for graphics.
Anyone have any other suggestions? Please help, it's killing me.

Update:
Problem was resolved. After doing multiple reinstalls of the drivers, multiple restarts, overriding the Nvidia Control Panel settings, maxing out all the Alienware Power Settings to High Performance, among many other things, I finally came across a solution.
I unplugged the computer and waited 10 seconds and plugged it back in. I had done that a few times before, and all of a sudden, this time it worked. I apologize, since I probably sound rather incompetent at this point. Thanks to all who took the time to read this post.
