Alienware Aurora R4 - Can't install Intel Management Engine Interface
Hello,
I've been having this problem for quite a while now. Since I've reinstalled Windows 7, the driver "Intel Mangement Engine Interface" doesn't want to install itself correctly. It gives me a code 10 error. I can't seem to find any solutions to fix this.
Please help.
Thanks in advance,
Qubn

Hi,
Try flashing the Bios to the latest version, click here for the download link. Are you trying to install this version of the driver? If not, try that version and let us know how it goes.

I'm using the latest version of the BIOS. My Intel Management Engine Interface version is 9.0.0.1287

Ok so, I tried installing the version of the driver you sent me, but it doesn't work that well. First of all, it still says the device cannot start. Second of all, the version of the driver didn't change and third, it now says that I don't meet the minimum system requirements.
Please help me :(

It says "Your computer doesn't meet the minimum requirements."

Hi,
Is this the only driver that you are missing? If you can, please post a screenshot of Device Manager showing the drivers that you are missing.

Yes, that is the only driver I'm missing. (Intel Management Engine Interface)
I managed to install the version you gave me, but it still says "Code 10". I included three pictures below.

Hi,
We think this could be some sort of driver conflict. We recommend doing an Alien Respawn system recovery. This will restore the system to factory settings and hopefully install this driver correctly. Click here to view a link that explains how to use Alien Respawn.

Hello,
I can't do that as I already deleted the recovery partition. So we need to try something else. I was wondering if it could be because I am not using all of the most up-to-date drivers. My BIOS version is A11, maybe I'm not using the chipset drivers that are compatible with it.
Could you do me a favor and give a download link to all of the most up-to-date drivers for the Aurora R4 with Windows 7 64 bits? This website doesn't provide them.
Thanks,
Qubn

Hi,
We recommend you use the drivers from the Dell support site. Enter your service tag and click on Drivers and Downloads. Make sure to select Windows 7 as the operating system.

Hello,
Could you please find a solution for my problem though? I saw online that some people fixed it by downgrading their BIOS version, but I'm not sure if I should do that.
Thanks,
Qubn

Hi,
We do not recommend downgrading the Bios. Since you no longer have the recovery partition, you could try doing a clean installation of Windows 7 using the Windows media that you might have received with the system. Click here to view a video that explains how to do a clean installation of Windows.

Hello,
I already tried to do a clean install, it doesn't work. I believe it started doing this after updating my BIOS from a version which I don't remember.
Well, I'm starting to believe that there's no solutions for this bug...
Anyway, thanks,

Hi,
Considering all of the troubleshooting steps you have already tried, this could be a hardware issue, possibly with the motherboard.

Hello,
My issue has not been resolved since then. I've read online that there's a way to fix it by updating the LMS files in the driver's folder. Apparently, it's because the version of the LMS service is older than the driver itself. I'm not sure though, so could you please send me a link to the latest version of LMS (Intel(R) Management and Security Application Local Management Service)?
Thanks,
