15 R1, 970 EVO Plus NVMe M.2 not fitting

The Alienware 15 R1 (1/08/2015) has two M.2 SATA slots for Samsung PM851 cards and will not accept M.2 NVMe cards.

hi @crimsom , but my 970 EVO Plus NVMe® M.2 SSD 2TB is an m.2 2280 type, which Alienware 15 has slot for m.2 2280

hi @crimsom , i see, but samsung says its m.2 2280 but it its not the same as the pic you post. Is my samsung 2tb still ok for Alienware 15? as it did not fit on the slot. I tried to remove the small plastic in the slot to fit my ssd, but it did not detect the ssd in the bios.

The Alienware 15 R1 (1/08/2015) has two M.2 SATA III slots. Alienware 15 Specifications (dell.com).  

There are no M.2 PCIe NVMe slots, so the 2TB M.2 2280 Samsung 970 EVO Plus NVMe SSD card cannot be installed.
